Being in a good place in the aftermath of years of caregiving to my wife, convinced me that life can be good again. Through determination, the love of friends and family, and the want to contribute to my community, I am driven back with confidence, drive and stability for as long as I am healthy and able to perform. Although the memories of loss and sacrifice will always be there, it drives me to be the best I can be.
Philosophies about life are as varied as the individuals themselves depending on experiences, age, and gender. The experience of being a caregiver, brought that to light even more vividly and made me more sensitive to the feelings and needs of those around me I had never felt before.
